Ed is a resident of Hanapepe. He and his wife, Cynthia, own and operate the successful
"Talk Story Bookstore"
in Old Town Hanapepe which has been in business for six years. His business has won seven awards (most recently the Better Business Bureau's Small Business Torch Award for the State of Hawai'i), and he was the winner of the 2010 SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Kaua'i County. Ed is currently involved in the renovation of the Aloha Theatre property in Hanapepe and is spearheading the creation of a Westside skate park. He is an active member of Kaua'i Chamber of Commerce, Kaua'i Filipino Chamber of Commerce, West Kaua'i Business and Professional Association, Kaua'i County Farm Bureau, E Ola Mau Na Leo O Kekaha, West Kaua'i Lions Club, West Kaua'i Rotary Club, a board member of Kaua'i Veterans Memorial Hospital Charitable Foundation, a Director of Ho'ike Kaua'i Community Television, the Hanapepe representative for the Mayor's Crime Task Force, and current serves on the Charter Review Commission. He is also a regular volunteer with Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity. Ed was asked to run for County Council by local residents from Hanapepe and is glad to be of greater service.
